Just wanted to let you know – today I received my 2012 Social Security Stimulus Package – it contained two tomato seeds, cornbread mix, a prayer rug, a machine to blow smoke up my a$$, and an “Obama Hope & Change” bumper sticker. The directions were in Spanish.

htm or html files won’t render – but shtml will? – WITH FIX

Weird. This has happened on almost every site I run.
When I tried to view pages on a website the pages either downloaded OR showed the code and didn’t render or a combo of the two. Some pages would load properly, but the server side includes didn’t load at all and some pages would load, but if they were named index.htm (or .html or .shtml) they’d download, even though every OTHER page in that directory worked properly!
Not sure why this keeps happening, as these are static sites that have been running for years, but whatever.

This is the fix I used.

Put this at the top of the .htaccess file

AddType text/html .shtml .htm
AddHandler server-parsed .htm
AddHandler server-parsed .html
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml

DirectoryIndex index.htm index.shtml index.html

The AddType and AddHandler lines made the pages render, the DirectoryIndex line made the index.htm, index.html, and/or index.shtml pages load

This post was going to be called “to refi or not refi” but I’d prefer to not have all the spambots.
So…After months of going round n round with CitiMortgage, B decided to submit our info (and home phone number) to several independent refi guys.
This morning he pulled the trigger with Citi, and I’ve been dodging mortgage guy’s calls.
I dislike phone spam even more than Internet spam.

Marshmallows won’t melt!!

Rice Krispy treats are becoming a thing of the past in my house. Great value (Walmart brand) marshmallows have stopped being meltable (is that even a word??)
I’ve tried butter, margarine, non stick pan, old fashioned everything sticks to it pan, high medium and low heat – and every configuration in between and I can’t make the marshmallows melt!
5 cups of rice krispies added to the semi transparent glop becomes a squished sticky mess.
Anybody else notice this!!!??
Marshmallows are supposed to melt, not turn into plastic. HELP

TV Commercials don’t sell to me

Ive noticed that in the 10 years I’ve had a dvr there has seldom been a time sensitive commercial I’ve regretted not seeing.
I sometimes let 3 or more shows cache, then watch them all at once, like some weird tv binge and I happen to see the end of a stray commercial now and then. In almost every case, over 10 years, I could care less about what they’re selling, event being sponsored, or movie that’s coming soon.
So.. Who are these sponsors targeting? I’m just about as middle class housewife with kids over and under 18 years old with dogs, cats and a house and a budget as it gets. Seems like SOME of these ads would be targeting me, right?

Missed the last minute of my tv show.. Again!!

I can prove it, yet, but in the last year that I’ve been using compact fluorescent lightbulbs my eyesight has gotten bad. To the point I have to use reading glasses if I want to read anything.
Anybody else notice this???
