Where were you…

June 26th, 2009

When you heard about Princess Diana’s death?
Saw it on the news in the middle of the night. Yes, I cried.
When you heard about Lucille Ball’s death?
I was living in Waco with my ex husband. Yes I cried.
When you heard about John Wayne’s death?
I was at my grandparent’s house at Lake Lavon. My grandma cried.
When you heard about Elvis’ death?
At my parent’s house, I had just finished my first embroidery sampler and the date is memorialized on that sampler. My mom cried.
When you heard about Michael Jackson’s death?
I was at the dollar store. It’s a huge loss to the music world. He was a brilliant performer and contributed so much, but strangely enough, I don’t think anyone I know will shed a tear. 20 years ago it would be very different. Sad.
I think Jon and Kate’s divorce affected me more.
