Charged my son’s phone $9.99 twice.
After I read my kid the riot act for accepting charges to his phone, I mean, what the heck?! I called T-Mobile to have the charges reversed.
The rep (Tameka – excellent) let me know that most of the time this happens when answering a quiz on facebook or myspace and to receive the answers, you have to enter your phone number. Doing that subscribes you to some bogus service and they’ll charge you MONTHLY until you cancel.
Here are the numbers to cancel the subscriptions:
SendMe Mobile – 1-877-402-3687
Do NOT Choose the Speak to Live Customer Service choice, it’ll put you in voicemail. Just hang on a sec and choose the other option, that will send you to the right place where you can enter the sub’d number and unsub from the nonsense.
Media Breakaway – 1-866-616-6076
Pretty straightforward. Talk to the rep, tell them your 12 year old kid did it.
Please note.. Neither of these scams will refund your cash, just go through your cel phone provider. I’m sure they’ve seen enough of this to help you out.
Good luck.
I sorta owe my son an apology. Sorta

SendMe Mobile will refund any money for inadvertant subscriptions. Call the number, mention it was mistaken signup, and they will refund your money. If you get voicemail, leave your mobile #, your name and mailing address and they will mail you a refund check.

8773SENDME-I never signed up for this service, they have charged me 3 months in a row now. I had called them a month ago when they said they would stop all charges and refund my money. Then I look and they charged me again. T-mobile had supposedly put a block on this for me. Ha! I am so pissed. How do these scam artists get away with this? My phones do not even receive messaging or text so they are full of sh*t. What do you have to do to shut them down?

This is BS. Let’s shut down these A$$holes for good. I have not entered any information online nor have subscribed to anything. But one day got a text from them, so I replied stopped.
Got with Tmobile who said they will reverse the charges. Then told me to reply stop to the other number since I only did on the one text I got. Well, I think the tmobile guy shouldn’t have advised me to reply stop because that put me on another subscription.
I got charged another 9.99 the next month. Then called Tmobile again and the “manager” was a dick about reversing the charges.
They were supposedly reversed, we’ll see. But I just called sendme and spoke to a rep. Told him to block my number from any future messages and he said he was going to refund me.
There has to be some law preventing these companies from just auto charging and sending texts and what ever else they send to our phones.

T-mobile will handle the refund for you if your custumer service representative is a good trained staff. No worry, just call them up!

This was definitely an unnecessary nuisance in my daily life! First the obnoxious text messages and then finding the charge on the phone bill at the end of the month.
However, I just took care of it all and it was relatively painless. I called T-Mobile as suggested to see what they could do. The guy supposedly has blocked the SendMe numbers (there were 2 numbers that were charging each month) and repeatedly told me since they are not T-Mobile charges they can’t refund the previous charges since I already paid off those bills. For some consolation he did credit back a charge that has already taken place for my new billing cycle.
Then, I called SendMe to cancel and demand some kind of refund. And I didn’t even have to bring out the demanding tone or put up a fight. The man on the other line was actually very gentle and kind? He cancelled the subscription right away and said he could send me a refund check for the past 4 charges (I had 6 charges, but whatever).
And that was that. Maybe it’s because it’s a Saturday afternoon. I have no idea. Now, I’m just crossing my fingers that I get a check and those numbers never text me again.

Ringnrock Scam: Checked my phone bill and found a monthly charge of $19.99 since January, which is as far back as I can go in AT&T records. AT&T will only refund three months so I’m stuck with the rest. Expensive lesson. Ringnrock will not answer their “customer service” with a live rep nor do they answer customer support emails.
